Paid Sick Time
Engineers and conductors are granted five (5) paid sick days per year with the option to convert up to three (3) PLD, three (3) VAC or a combination of three (3) PLD and VAC. Once converted to paid sick time, PLD/VAC cannot be converted back. Paid sick time cannot be carried over to the next year. Employees will have the option of cashing out any unused paid sick days or rolling them into their 401k.
Employees who want to utilize paid sick time will need to use layoff code LSP. This code will be approved immediately regardless of allocations and will not be counted in the daily allocation. LSP will each pay a basic day unless a VAC day has been converted, they will be paid at vacation rate. Employees are only allowed five (5) paid sick days total per year regardless of the craft they are working.
